Treatments commence summer 2025.
This relatively recent approach to treatment has been developed from traditional Chinese medicine and Western clinical experience and is based on the bio-holographic theory that the entire system is represented on smaller parts of the body (microsystems).
Traditional acupuncture is an ancient Chinese healing system practised successfully for thousands of years. It is based on the principle that there are pathways (meridians) running through the body which relate to internal organs and systems. These are conduits for the vital life energy (Qi). Sometimes, pathogenic factors like stress, bad diet, environmental toxins and lack of exercise cause blockages in these pathways and create pain, ill health or even mental problems. Acupuncture addresses these obstructions through the stimulation of chosen points on meridians enabling Qi to flow freely again. This is achieved by the insertion of needles into the appropriate points.
During the past 50 years, traditional Chinese acupuncture has been supplemented and amplified by a new form of acupuncture called microsystem acupuncture. This relatively recent approach to treatment has been developed from traditional Chinese medicine and Western clinical experience and is based on the bio-holographic theory that the entire system is represented on smaller parts of the body (microsystems): ear, hand, foot, face, nose, scalp, eye, arm and leg. Specific points within each microsystem correlate to - and interrelate with - particular organs or functions. This enables the practitioner to address the condition through one or more of these microsystems. The use of a small part of the body instead of the whole body is practical and convenient with no need to undress and a smaller area to be treated.
What are the particular benefits of microsystem acupuncture? Whilst this approach can address a wide range of conditions, microsystem acupuncture is particularly effective with:
It has significant benefits in the maintenance of health and wellbeing, for preventing illnesses and for facial enhancement.

“Karen suggested that we try 10 session of ear acupuncture to help me stop smoking and I have honestly not looked back from that point. Not only did I not crave cigarettes as much as I had in previous attempts to stop, this time my personality did not change and I did not get crazy. After about a week I really started to feel happier in myself and more in control of my life and wellbeing. I would highly recommend Karen’s therapy”
