Facial Reflexology

This unique type of reflexology works on the same principle as classic foot reflexology but the techniques that make this such a powerful healing process also deliver an immediate beautifying effect. Facial Reflexology is actually two treatments in one.

What is reflexology?

As practised today, reflexology is both a science and an art. Although a highly effective healing system for thousands of years, since the beginning of the twentieth century our understanding and practice has been significantly enriched by the volumes of research and development that have led to the methodologies we use today. Reflexology works as a way of activating our internal healing powers based on the principle that all parts of our body are connected by energy pathways ending in the hands, feet, face, scalp and ears. Reflexology treatment uses pressure on these specific zones to stimulate healing in the corresponding organs, glands and structures releasing areas of tension and helping energy to flow more freely throughout the body.

What is Facial Reflexology?

Facial Reflexology combines the best traditions of Eastern and Western medicine allowing the practitioner both to balance the internal energy system through the meridians and to regulate the body’s functions through the stimulation of neuro-vascular points. This subtle manipulation of points on the face releases endorphins, promoting feelings of well-being and happiness and leaving a glowing complexion.

What is involved in the Classic Facial Reflexology treatment?

During the session, the recipient lies down comfortably on the couch. I begin the treatment with a special roller on the face to ‘wake up’ the skin. The use of a preparatory, organic facial oil ensures a soothing and healing experience. For the treatment itself, I work gently on the facial area with seven specific sequences of stimulation on points and zones. The session is concluded with a jade roller massage to calm the skin and harmonise the treatment.

What is involved in the Enhanced Facial Reflexology treatment?

This protocol follows the Classic Facial Reflexology treatment but deepens the healing and the beauty effects with four further elements:

  • more acupressure points
  • use of suction caps
  • gua sha massage
  • cryo-therapy with gold wands

Micro-system Acupuncture

This relatively recent approach to treatment has been developed from traditional Chinese medicine and Western clinical experience and is based on the bio-holographic theory that the entire system is represented on smaller parts of the body (microsystems).
